So this is a revisit to an animation that I apparently never posted from last semester.

My bad.

Finally starting to feel like I've gotten then hang of lighting.

Insanity Incarnate

So back in 2010 I wanted to enter a monthly emoticon animation contest with the theme of weapons or something along those lines. I did this for the contest:

but I decided I didn't like that animation, it was kind of boring and overly simple. I decided to revisit it with what would become to most complex animation I had done to date:

And with that entry, I got second place and a Daily Deviation, the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a poster at the wonderful land that is dA (in other words, it doesn't mean much, but it's a cool little ego boost). I felt proud of myself for the animation and it's always remained the crowning jewel of my emoticon days that I show off to people when talking about my pixel animation work.

Well after posting the last little pixel animation test, everyone was complimenting me about how good it was, but I honestly don't feel like it's anything special. So I decided to do something that will hopefully actually feel like it's worth the praise.

That something is a revisit of that emoticon animation, but with full bipeds instead of limbless spheres. Hope you enjoy!

Giffin it up

So I haven't done a gif animation in 3 years. Thought I'd go back to my roots for a bit.

Planned to have this whole fireball launching FX animation thing in here as well, and you can see some outline of that, but I started running into program issues before I could get to that. Might add that in later.

I'm not dead, I swear

Despite what you may have heard, I am NOT dead.

I'm also not being lazy.

In fact, the reason I haven't posted is that I've been so ridiculously productive in an assortment of abstract ways that it's been hard to figure out what's mine enough for me to post and what doesn't feel right to post to my own blog.

So here's some assets made 100% by me for my upcoming game project, Lux. You may remember the character model that I posted a while back. Well. Two of them, actually. And I'm redesigning that yet again because I hate it.

So yeah. That's an update. More to come. Sorry I haven't been blogging.

My twitter has slightly more frequent updates, if you want to follow that. @BaldSavant
